Custom software and digital transformation company, DVT, a Dynamic Technologies group company, partnered with UK-based golf performance platform, Clippd, to deliver a mobile solution that helps players and coaches improve their game. Built by golfers for golfers, the platform needed an agile partner to create a dynamic mobile app without disrupting their existing platform.
Clippd was originally built as a Progressive Web Application (PWA) to provide seamless cross-platform access, but rapid growth in the number of mobile users exposed limitations in its reach and functionality. These included a lack of push notifications on iOS, which affected user engagement and retention, as well as restricted app store distribution, challenges with in-app purchases and performance limitations.
DVT’s solution also included enhancements to the app’s data architecture, user experience and streamlined in-app payment flow using RevenueCat, a third-party tool for managing transactions.
To maintain the advantages of a PWA while unlocking native mobile capabilities, DVT proposed a React Native wrapper as a robust solution that could deliver an enhanced user experience without a full native rebuild. Bridging the PWA with native mobile functionality, this approach provided a cost-effective way to integrate essential native features while preserving the core benefits.
In addition, as part of the broader technology collaboration, DVT helped Clippd develop a secure iOS SDK (Software Development Kit) using Swift. The SDK enables third-party golf tech applications to integrate Clippd’s AI-powered shot analysis directly into their own platforms without exposing the underlying models or intellectual property. Designed to operate entirely on-device, the SDK supports offline use and prioritises both speed and security. It was delivered in just three sprints, ahead of Clippd’s demo at the PGA Show in the US.
DVT collaborated closely with Clippd’s CTO and development team throughout the process to ensure a smooth deployment.
“Clippd is an excellent example of how a smart, data-driven product combined with the right mobile technology approach can drive outstanding results,” says Jason Bramsden, MD of DVT UK and Middle East. “Our collaboration allowed Clippd to quickly expand its market presence, maintain technical agility and ensure that users benefit from a high-quality, modern mobile app experience.”
Clippd uses performance metrics to help users measure and understand golfing skill in each portion of the game and overall. By tracking skill level shot-by-shot at a given point, golfers and coaches are able to access invaluable performance data.
The metrics used to record and evaluate performance include player quality and skill levels, shot quality, identifying the skills that drive the best scores, personalise data-driven practice plans and overall patterns from drive to putt.
Gary O’Connor, Clippd's CTO, says, “Working with DVT enabled us to quickly extend our app’s reach and enhance functionality without losing our original build. The mobile solution significantly improved user experience and performance, positioning us perfectly to scale.”
This successful partnership saw DVT and Clippd shortlisted for Mobile Project of the Year at the 2025 Computing Digital Technology Leadership Awards in London.
Serving coaches, players, and teams across the UK and internationally, the golf analytics platform is looking to expand into USA and Asia. This mobile solution forms a vital part of Clippd’s long-term digital roadmap, with future enhancements and additional integrations already in planning.
