The iconic Cape Town Cycle Tour 2024 welcomed almost 30 000 riders. On a beautiful Cape Town day that boasted sunny skies, a slight breeze, and a helpful tailwind to finish, the 109km course was a beaut from start to finish. The front of the race saw a number of early breaks, some serious climbing, and top-notch sprinting. Kent Main took victory over Charlie Aldridge with a finishing time of 2:31:28 after slipping off the front group and time trialling his way to the finish. Alan Hatherly took 3rd, and Luke Moir claimed 5th overall with a very respectable time of 2:31:36. Not bad for someone only recently released from rehab after surgery on a broken ankle.
