Nonhlanhla Hlatshwayo, a graduate of Dynamic DNA, an ICT training academy and a Dynamic Technologies group company, has landed a promising position as a junior software tester at a digital technology company that offers ERP and marketing services. With a passion for quality assurance and software testing, this talented young tech star has a bright future ahead of her.
“My journey with Dynamic DNA began when I applied online for the Information Technology Learnership programme,” says Nonhlanhla. “I was selected, and I'm so glad I embraced the opportunity. When I started I didn't even have basic computer knowledge, but Dynamic DNA helped me build a strong foundation for my studies. The facilitators were passionate and easy to communicate with, introducing me to the courses and guiding me through Systems Development and QF Level 4, followed by Software Testing and QF Level 5.”
Dynamic DNA has helped to shape Nonhlanhla’s career through their unwavering support for students. “The facilitators are available full-time, even after hours, to ensure that we understand the material. They go the extra mile by providing the tools and equipment we need to succeed, including programmes such as Microsoft certification, which prepare us for the workplace and equip us with industry-relevant skills.”
She adds, “I also had the chance to learn about various tools, including Figma and Kanban, and I earned a Microsoft MS 900 cloud-related certification, all of which highlights Dynamic DNA's commitment to helping us become well-rounded professionals. Exposure to programming languages such as Python is also a valuable addition to my skill set.”
Nonhlanhla credits Dynamic DNA with having a profound impact on her personal and professional growth. She says she has developed a new perspective and her problem-solving skills have strengthened significantly. “I now approach challenges with a troubleshooter’s mindset, which I attribute to the programmes I've completed with Dynamic DNA. Professionally, I've gained hands-on experience in software testing and a deeper understanding of the software development process, allowing me to apply my knowledge in real-world environments. She notes that she has had several mentors at Dynamic DNA who've been instrumental in her growth, serving as role models and encouraging the students to strive for excellence.
She says, “My goals are to become a great software tester, continue growing in the industry, explore related careers such as test analysis and pursue a related tech degree to boost my qualifications.” Nonhlanhla believes that Dynamic DNA shapes tomorrow's leaders by instilling a can-do attitude, equipping them with the right skills and preparing them for the workforce. By encouraging students to push themselves and by providing the necessary support to succeed, they’re building the tech talent of the future.
