Tristan Brown is a Senior Solutions Consultant at Inspired Testing, a Dynamic Technologies group company. Based in the UK, Tristan brings over 25 years of software testing experience to the table with a career spanning financial services, utilities and enterprise-scale transformation programmes. It’s this depth of knowledge and hands-on experience that is helping Tristan shape and support the growth of Inspired Testing’s UK test practice.

Tristan lists his strengths as building test strategy and quality assurance (QA) from the ground up, implementing scalable governance and rescuing failing QA practices with clear analysis and actionable frameworks. He is particularly passionate about making testing leaner, more business-aligned and an authority for quality.

Interestingly, Tristan notes that he honed several of his skills and strengths working on the family farm after the pandemic. “I discovered that farming teaches patience, planning, and respect for variables outside your control, and these are all relevant to testing. There’s also a discipline in routine and a satisfaction in seeing tangible outcomes from hard graft. What it reminded me of most was the value of resilience and rhythm – two qualities that every successful QA organisation needs, especially when the pressure is on. Equally germane, if you don’t have a hammer, use a rock!”

Tristan is focused on strengthening the company’s testing propositions and making sure that what they deliver is pragmatic, scalable and adds clear value from day one, while his long-term goal is to help position Inspired Testing as a leading force in the UK market that clients turn to when they need smart and efficient QA.

“We can do that by delivering excellence where it counts,” he says. “Clients expand accounts because you earn the right. We’re showing them what’s possible when testing is aligned to business value and that creates a model we can replicate elsewhere.

With wry humour, he describes his role at Inspired Testing as, “A mix of thinking, doing and occasionally herding cats … but that’s what keeps it interesting.” He’s wearing several hats in his position, he says. “Part principal consultant, part client delivery, part proposal writer and occasionally chief slide-deck wrangler! Right now, I’m driving quality outcomes for our UK clients while also helping to shape how we position ourselves in the market. That includes everything from hands-on delivery to strategic QA advice, as well as working with our UK leadership to shape propositions and help to position Inspired as a credible, trusted partner in the QA space.”

Drawn to Inspired Testing by the blend of strategic ambition, practical delivery and an eye to the future of testing, Tristan saw a future he wanted to part of. “It was a company that understands quality as a growth function. I saw an opportunity to make an impact with our clients and to help shape the perception of testing in the industry as a critical enabler of change.”

He adds, “There’s a depth of testing knowledge here that’s rare, as well as a belief that testing can be both efficient and excellent. Our ability to embed into client teams, tailor our frameworks and still maintain delivery discipline is what makes us stand out.”

For Tristan, testing is about so much more than ticking a delivery box. He says, “It’s the clear voice in the room. It’s where intent meets reality, where you see whether all those grand ideas actually work. I’m inspired by the discipline it brings to chaos; the insight it brings to decisions and the confidence it brings to delivery. It’s also one of the few roles that touches everything in business – tech, risk, customer – and that holistic view is something I will never tire of.” His time at Inspired Testing has been challenging in all the right ways. “I’ve had the autonomy to lead, the support to grow and the freedom to shape how we show up for our clients. It’s rare to find a consultancy that blends agility with accountability, but Inspired gets that balance right.”
