Luke had a third row start for the XCC short track event but unfortunately crashed in the first corner and was left in last place behind the rest of the pack. He chased hard to get back to the bunch and, while he made it up to 20th, the effort involved took its toll and he found himself crossing the finish in 29th position. This was a good enough result to grant him a 4th row start for Sunday's XCO.
Luke had a poor start in the XCO race, most likely due to actively avoiding crashing in the first corner. After being elbowed into 45th place, he fought back with a huge effort on the top flat of the start loop and moved up to 31st. He slowly picked his way through the group and finished in a strong 26th place overall – a testament to his resilience and determination.
Luke and the team are looking forward to heading to Scotland for World Champs in August.
