Dynamic Technologies group companies take the professional and personal development of their people seriously. With a range of graduate, internship, and trainee programmes running across the companies, young ICT talent is continuously identified and supported, allowing these individuals to improve their prospects and advance their careers. CloudSmiths, one of the group companies, plays a formative role in developing young people in the tech space and safeguarding the tech talent of tomorrow. It’s lifechanging stuff.
After matriculating from Parktown Boys High School in 2023, Tauhir September’s dream of a career in tech came to a halt when he found himself unable to secure a position at any of his three chosen universities. Not one to give up, he began searching for companies that were offering internships or learnerships, and in the process, he discovered CloudSmiths. He immediately sent in a motivational letter – and seeing both potential and a drive to succeed in the youngster, CloudSmiths offered him a trainee internship.
This type of internship provides individuals with real-world experience, on-the-job training, and in-depth mentorship. Trainees are shown how the business world operates and they are able to observe and learn from people who are on the career path they wish to pursue. September says, “As an intern, I am being guided in the right direction and CloudSmiths is helping me gain valuable skills that will benefit my career development.” He adds, “Interns also get to build connections and networks, which will really help when it comes to securing a job.”
The experience at CloudSmiths has been invaluable for September. He says, “I know that working for CloudSmiths has given me a boost in terms of personal development, as well as in terms of my skills and potential in my professional development. These past six months have been exciting and my work here has taught me, among other things, how to use critical thinking to solve problems.” It’s this kind of real-world experience that simply can’t be taught in a classroom setting.
Part of September’s skills development includes certifications through some of CloudSmiths prominent partners. He obtained his Salesforce Associate Certification in May and should complete his Professional Google Workspace Administrator Certification before the end of the year. In preparation for his admission to university in 2025 to study a degree in Information Technology, CloudSmiths also assigned September a role that will align with his studies and give him the best possible launchpad for his future career.
The impact that this internship is having on September is profound. He says, “I plan to achieve my degree in Information Technology before returning to CloudSmiths to pursue my career aspirations. I look forward to learning different programming languages in university and I hope that one day I can move towards developing software and creating web applications.”
